I feel greatly glad and inspired to have met you all, dear students, at this juncture of your life, when all your eyes are full of dreams, to attain something new and glorious in life, that may ultimately shape your future personal career, as well as, the life of the world around you. I congratulate you for your successful journey so far in the path of formal education.
Those who could not attain their expected goals in the days they have left behind, will surely get new chances to live up to the aims they set for themselves, with the help of new and pragmatic plans and more sincere study.
At this moment we, all the inhabitants of our planet, share a common threat which is not only staggering and massive in size but also unimaginably all pervasive. Of course, it has not only stood as a question mark in front of our complacency about human civilization, but also given us scope to pause for a moment and think anew, whether mankind needs to replan and recalculate its future journey. Because, not a single domain of our life has remained unaffected by this new enemy in the form of Covid19. The unprecedented pandemic has also badly affected our education system to the core very rapidly.
But we have geared up ourselves to meet all the challenges. Actually, we had some preparation in some aspects in advance, as we had already switched over to certain new techno-based modes of running academic institute from the previous years. For instance, we introduced online system in admission process last year itself. All kinds of financial transactions are made through digital mode in our college. Mobile phone apps are used for class room management (i.e., keeping record of attendance of students, displaying various notices etc.). All these measures have been proved to be very much relevant and essential in the present situation. In order to minimize the academic loss under the continuous lockdown, we have opted for the use of different online platforms to impart teaching to our homebound students. Of course, the student community also needs to prepare themselves to make the best of these newer modes of learning, not only during pandemic, but for all times to come.
Madhab Choudhury College which is one of the oldest colleges of Assam was established on 14thJuly, 1939 and provided scope for higher education to the youths of a large area of lower Assam before and after independence. We have always tried to transform ourselves to cater to the needs of the hour. The college authority has been trying relentlessly to make available all kinds of modern facilities to support our students. I appeal to all the stakeholders to become a part whole heartedly of our effort to make it a center of excellence.
