Institute Grievance and anti-ragging policy

Following the guidelines stated in UGC (Grievance redressal regulations) 2018; M C College, Barpeta is committed to address and effectively resolve grievances of students in both academic and non-academic matters.

• The institute has an active body of Grievance redressal cell to act on students academic as well as non-academic grievances.
• Grievances related to academic matters are also addressed in the corresponding departments.
• The institute has a personalized online system to register and raise their queries, complaints and/or requests.
• Students can log their grievances into the centralized online space, through assigned computers in the central library, simply using their phone number.
• Stepwise procedures of the above stated system are being displayed outside the library for students’ convenience.
• Students are also made aware of their rights and duties, dos and don’ts at different interaction sessions in departments, hostels and other official student gatherings.
• Students can raise a grievance in the following matters to the system (as per UGC regulation):
  
  
  1. Discrepancy in the admission process like admitting students contrary to the merit list provided by the admission committee.
  2. Irregularity in the admission procedure adopted by the institute.
  3. Non publication of prospectus in time.
  4. Refusing admission as per procedure adopted by the college.
  5. Publication of false, incomplete or misleading points in the prospectus.
  6. Demanding money to work in favour of certain students.
  7. Withold or refuse to return original documents taken from students.
  8. Not following the reservation norms as per government order.
  9. Non-disbursal of scholarship and notifications in time.
  10. Non transparent or unfair internal evaluation system.
  11. Delay in conduct of examination or declaration of result as per academic calendar.
  12. Any complaint regarding ragging can be directly reported to the anti-ragging cell of the institute.
  13. Grievances regarding establishment section, library, sports facilities and other amenities of institute.
