This programme is aimed at training candidates for the job of ” Beekeeper” in ” Agriculture & Allied” sector / Industry.
Aim of this course is understand bee biology and behaviour, Handle beekeeping system and beehive management and manage insects and nuisances in beehive.

Aquarium Technician programme :-

This programme is aimed at training candidates for the job of a ” Aquarium Technician” in the ” Agriculture & allied” sector/ Industry.
Aim of this course is to identify ornamental fishes, setup and management of freshwater aquarium and proper water quality management of fish in fresh water aquarium.

A two year Diploma Course on Fish Breeding

A community college is a type of educational institution. It provides work force education. In India 98 community Colleges are recognized by UGC. In Madhab Choudhury College, Barpeta, Community college was established in the year 2016-2017. The Community College is sponsored by UGC (Agricultural Skill Development Council). It is a two-year Diploma Course on Fish breeding.

Community Colleges (CC) serve the following needs:–
  • Career oriented education and skills to students interested in directly entering the workforce
  • Training and education programmes for local employers


Here We are starting two-year Fish breeding Courses with four semesters:-
  • The syllabus curriculum was aligned by Agricultural Skill Council of India.
  • Assessment of the 1st semester is fixed on 19 April by Agricultural Skill Development Council of India.
  • Community Colleges offer courses that are a mixture of knowledge and skill components


Community colleges are an integral part of education system across the world

These Colleges across the world have been working towards the improvement of traditional education system
They are also working towards increasing the acceptance of skill oriented courses among employers.
  • These colleges provide education above the secondary level and below the degree level with appropriate skills keeping in view the needs of local industry and community thereby leading to gainful employment and option for horizontal and vertical mobility.
  • So, this College brings hope to the present rural society, as it provides skill training, which traditional education cannot do, in solving unemployment problem among youths of the rural India.


Admission procedure for Community College:-

Applicants are invited for the admission in UGC sponsored two years Diploma course on Fish Breeding (Hatching Worker). Admission will be held depending upon the following criteria.
  1. Seat capacity is forty (40).
  2. Minimum educational qualification is H.S. passed (Science/Arts/ Commerce).
  3. Age limit is 18.
  4. The course consists of 4 (four) semester
  5. Examination and Evaluation will be conducted by Skill Council of India (SCT)/ Agricultural Skill Council of India (ASCI), New Delhi, India.


Documents required for admission:-
  1. Self-attested copies of mark sheets and certificate.
  2. Self-attested copies of Registration certificate.
  3. Age limit is 18.
  4. Caste certificate (If any).
  5. Admit card of the respective exam.


Medium of instruction:-

The medium of instruction is English.

Community college, Madhab Choudhury College, Barpeta has organized a University Grants Commission (UGC) sponsored National Seminar on “Fisheries and Fish breeding” on 26th and 27th March, 2018 in the college premises.
